I'm The Wondersmith, a.k.a. Blake Linton Wilfong, and I've been a resident of Houston, Texas since my birth in 1964. I received a B.A. in Computer Science from Rice University in 1986, and spent the next seven years as a NASA consultant. My interests include dreams, cooperative DOOM games, New Age music, and pretty ladies. And I've loved science fiction for as long as I can remember.
I think it's sad that most science fiction fans are unaware of the venerable history of their favorite genre. My goal in creating Free Sci-Fi Classics is to bring back classic SF of yesteryear. Here you'll find rare stories by literary giants you probably never knew wrote science fiction, like Mark Twain, Jack London, Rudyard Kipling, and Hans Christian Andersen--plus big names traditionally associated with SF, like Jules Verne, H. G. Wells, and Murray Leinster. And don't fear that they'll be long and boring; I present only shorter stories, condensing those that are too wordy without sacrificing their all-important sense of wonder. New stories will be added as fast as I can type and illustrate them, so check back often.
My email address is wondersmith@gmail.com. All constructive comments are
welcome, though time may not permit individual replies.
